Hello and welcome to the blog!
I love sharing personal stories, recent sessions, recent weddings, tips & tricks for family sessions, tips for my brides and your wedding day, outfit suggestions, location ideas & suggestions, my husband and I, personal things about me and my little family, and some of the behind-the-scenes of being a photographer.
Feel free to take a look around and stay a while!

When your wedding day finally arrives, it moves quickly. The quiet moments in the morning, before hair and makeup are finished, before guests arrive, are when your wedding detail photos are captured. As a Dallas–Fort Worth Wedding Photographer, one of the most common questions I get is what to bring for flat lay photos. A Wedding Flat Lay Details Checklist is a great way to be prepared and ready for the day without scrambling for details on the day of!
Your wedding flat lay details help tell the full story of your day. They set the tone. They preserve the small pieces you thoughtfully chose. And when everything is gathered ahead of time, it allows your photographer to style them beautifully without stress.
Here is your complete wedding flat lay details checklist so nothing gets forgotten.

Your invitation suite is the foundation of your bridal flat lay. If possible, ask your stationer for an extra full set ahead of time. Bring everything that feels intentional, not just the main card.
Include:
Main invitation
RSVP card
Envelope (with addressed calligraphy if possible)
Wax seals
Vellum wraps
Save the date
Ceremony program
Menu cards
Even small pieces like stamps or custom envelope liners elevate the final image.
Your accessories add personality and elegance to your wedding flat lay details.
Gather:
Engagement ring
Both wedding bands
Earrings
Necklace
Bracelet
Hair accessories
Veil
Perfume
If your shoes are meaningful or custom, include those as well. Texture photographs beautifully!
This is where your photos become legacy-driven instead of just pretty.
Consider including:
A handwritten vow book
Family heirlooms
Something borrowed, something blue
A meaningful ribbon or fabric
A note from your fiancé
These pieces add emotion and depth to your detail photos.

Your wedding flat lay isn’t just about the bride. If possible, gather a few groom details as well!
Include:
Watch
Cufflinks
Boutonniere
Tie or bowtie
Cologne
Wedding band
This creates balance in your gallery and tells both sides of your story.
The easiest way to reduce stress is to put all your flat lay details in one box ahead of time. Designate a bridesmaid to hand it directly to your photographer when they arrive! Bring anything and everything in that box! It is so nice to have lots of items that I can use and incorporate! I bring a flat lay box to add some more beautiful touches with some more items I bring on the day of, along with pretty flat lay mats, that photograph nicely with the details!
As a Dallas–Fort Worth Wedding Photographer, I typically photograph details first, while you’re getting ready, so we can take advantage of soft window light before the day becomes busy and then I can take photos of you getting ready after, or I can send my second shooter to grab getting ready photos while I am doing the flat lay! It all depends on the timeline, but we will get all of the photos! When everything is gathered ahead of time, it allows me to create intentional, editorial-style images without interrupting your getting-ready moments!
Your wedding day will feel like a blur. The cake will be cut, the flowers will fade, and the invitations will be tucked away in a keepsake box. Your detail photos preserve those intentional choices forever.
Your wedding flat lay details are part of your legacy. They reflect your style, your story, and the small touches that made your day uniquely yours.
If you’re planning your wedding in Texas or North Georgia and looking for a Dallas–Fort Worth Wedding Photographer who values both the big moments and the quiet details, I would be honored to serve you.
