Hello and welcome to the blog!
I love sharing personal stories, recent sessions, recent weddings, tips & tricks for family sessions, tips for my brides and your wedding day, outfit suggestions, location ideas & suggestions, my husband and I, personal things about me and my little family, and some of the behind-the-scenes of being a photographer.
Feel free to take a look around and stay a while!

When couples hire me as their wedding photographer in Northern Georgia, they usually picture the big, planned moments: the first kiss, the bouquet toss, the perfectly posed family portrait where everyone’s smiling at the camera. And yes, I absolutely capture all of those.
But some of my favorite images aren’t planned at all. They’re the unexpected, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that can’t be recreated, and they often end up being the most meaningful photos in your entire gallery!
There’s something powerful about a photograph that wasn’t staged or scripted. These are the images that capture how your wedding felt, not just how it looked.
When you look back years from now, you won’t just remember what your flowers looked like, you’ll remember the way your dad squeezed your hand before walking you down the aisle, or the way your best friend laughed so hard she cried during the toasts, and how you danced the night away with your flower girl while smiling as big as can be.
As a legacy and documentary-style wedding photographer, I’m always scanning for the unplanned interactions that tell your story in the most honest way.
The windblown veil – Sure, we can adjust it for the “perfect” shot… but sometimes the wild, flyaway moment is even better.
Spontaneous dance parties – Kids twirling in the grass while guests mingle at cocktail hour.
Laughter through tears – Because joy and emotion often show up together.
Quiet gestures – A comforting hand on your back, a forehead kiss during a pause in the reception.
These are the moments no shot list can predict, but they’re the ones you’ll treasure forever.
You can’t force an unexpected moment, but you can create space for it to happen. That’s why I build in breathing room to your wedding timeline, encourage you to slow down and take it all in, and use a relaxed approach between the posed portraits, to capture your day, just how it is.
When you forget I’m even there, that’s when the magic happens! I love capturing all of the moments and making sure I tell your sweet story of your day!
When you choose Amanda Jenkins Photography, you’re choosing more than someone who knows how to pose and light a scene. You’re getting a photographer who will fight for the realness in your story—the fleeting, imperfect, unforgettable moments you didn’t even know I was capturing.
Because one day, when you’re flipping through your wedding album, those are the images that will take you right back to the way it felt.
If you’re dreaming of wedding photos that tell the whole story, posed portraits, beautiful details, and the little moments in between, I’d love to hear from you!
