Hello and welcome to the blog!
I love sharing personal stories, recent sessions, recent weddings, tips & tricks for family sessions, tips for my brides and your wedding day, outfit suggestions, location ideas & suggestions, my husband and I, personal things about me and my little family, and some of the behind-the-scenes of being a photographer.
Feel free to take a look around and stay a while!
When I first started as a photographer, I thought perfection was the goal. Perfect lighting, perfect posing, perfect backdrops—everything just right. And yes, beautiful photos matter. But somewhere along the way, I realized that chasing perfection was keeping me from capturing the heart of what I love most: genuine connection.
Now, as a North Georgia wedding photographer and Dallas wedding photographer, I’ve seen firsthand that the most meaningful photos aren’t always the ones that are perfectly posed. They’re the ones where you’re fully present, forgetting about the camera and just being with the people you love.
There’s nothing wrong with a stunning, posed portrait; those images absolutely have a place in your gallery. But when every photo is perfectly staged, something important can get lost: you. And the sight of you marrying your person!
Real life isn’t flawless. Your veil might blow in the wind. Your flower girl might trip and giggle halfway down the aisle. The sunset might be cloudier than planned. And yet… those are often the moments my couples end up loving most. The beauty in the day, and how it happened, just as is!
As a legacy wedding photographer, I’ve learned that emotion beats perfection every single time.
When you look back on your wedding album years from now, I want you to feel something, not just see something pretty. That’s why I focus on helping you relax, interact, and connect during your session or wedding day.
It’s in the way you hold hands during your vows. The way your dad’s eyes well up during the father-daughter dance. The way your friends laugh so hard they cry during the toasts. These are the photos that will matter long after the day is over.
Choosing connection over perfection doesn’t mean we skip the beautifully posed shots. It means we also create space for the unexpected, unscripted moments to happen.
Here’s how I do that:
Building in breathing room in your wedding timeline so you never feel rushed.
Encouraging interaction—instead of just standing and smiling, I’ll have you walk, talk, laugh, or share a quiet moment.
Capturing the in-between—those seconds right before or after the “official” shot when your true personality shows.
Making you comfortable so you never feel like you’re performing for the camera.
When you’re comfortable, connection happens naturally.
Perfect photos might look good on Instagram, but connected photos will mean something to you for the rest of your life.
That’s why I’ll never prioritize making a shot look “Pinterest perfect” over preserving the way your wedding felt. I want you to look at your photos and remember the emotion in the air, the joy on your faces, and the love that surrounded you, not just how perfect your hair or backdrop looked.
And beyond that, these images become part of your legacy. They’re what your children, grandchildren, and future generations will hold in their hands as they learn your love story.
Part of why I believe so deeply in connection is because of my own marriage. I married my high school sweetheart, Brady, in May 2024, after five years of dating through high school, college, and his two-year church mission.
Our story is full of imperfect moments, missed flights, rainy trips, inside jokes, and a few burned dinners on my part, but those are the very things that make our relationship ours. And that’s what I want for your wedding photos: to reflect your real love, not just the “perfect” version of it.
One day, your wedding photos will be more than beautiful images, they’ll be part of your history. The details might fade, but the connection you see in those images will last forever.
That’s the kind of legacy I want to help you create. And that’s why, for me, connection will always win over perfection.
