Hello and welcome to the blog!
I love sharing personal stories, recent sessions, recent weddings, tips & tricks for family sessions, tips for my brides and your wedding day, outfit suggestions, location ideas & suggestions, my husband and I, personal things about me and my little family, and some of the behind-the-scenes of being a photographer.
Feel free to take a look around and stay a while!

After photographing hundreds of weddings as a Dallas–Fort Worth wedding photographer, I can confidently say this: Most wedding day stress doesn’t come from big disasters. It comes from small, preventable planning oversights. The good news? Every single one of these can be avoided with intentional preparation!
Whether you’re planning a Texas celebration or working with a Cumming Georgia wedding photographer, here are the most common wedding day mistakes I see, and how to avoid them!
This is the biggest one.
Hair runs late.
A groomsman forgets something.
Traffic happens.
Without buffer time, one small delay can domino into the entire day feeling rushed.
Fix:
Add 10–15 minute cushions between major events:
Getting ready → First look
Ceremony → Family formals
Travel → Reception entrance
As a Dallas–Fort Worth wedding photographer, I always help my couples build timelines that protect their peace. I have lots of wedding photography timeline tips and more information to help your day go smoothly!
Flat lay photos are beautiful, but they take intention!
I often arrive and details are:
Scattered
Still in bags
Missing pieces (like shoes or rings)
Fix:
Have a designated box ready with:
Invitation suite
Both rings
Vow books
Perfume
Heirloom items
Shoes
Jewelry

This creates chaos fast.
Without a pre-written list, curated list, family formals turn into:
“Wait, did we get one with Aunt Sarah?”
“Where’s Grandpa?”
“Oh, we forgot mom’s side!”
Fix:
Create a clear, organized wedding family formals list in advance and assign a point person to gather people. Knowing How to Organize Family Formals without Stress is important!
Your photographer, planner, florist, and DJ should all be aligned.
If one vendor is unaware of:
A surprise dance
A special exit
A sparkler send-off
It can cause confusion. We don’t want to miss a special moment or if there’s something personal going to happen that’s special!
Fix:
Send your final timeline to every vendor at least 1–2 weeks (the farther out, the better!) before the wedding.
As a wedding photographer serving Dallas–Fort Worth and Cumming, Georgia, I personally coordinate with planners and venues to keep everything seamless! Having time for photos to be taken is so important!
This is so common, especially with brides! I mean, I literally think I ate a block of cheese at my wedding, I was so hungry and wish I sat down to eat the meal!
Adrenaline masks hunger… until it doesn’t.
Low blood sugar + nerves = tears or dizziness.
Fix:
Eat protein in the morning
Keep snacks nearby
Drink water consistently
Have someone assigned to remind you
A stress-free wedding day starts with a nourished bride and a fed groom!
DFW traffic is real.
North Georgia mountain roads are real.
Travel always takes longer than Google says on a Saturday afternoon. Dallas-Fort Worth wedding venues sometimes take time to get to!
Fix:
Add 15–20 extra minutes to any drive time, especially if:
You’re changing locations
You’re getting married in a high-traffic area
You’re hosting guests from out of town
This one matters most. Vendors and family are here to help! Planners are SO important to help with the little details and taking that stress away!
Some couples spend their entire day:
Managing logistics
Fixing problems
Hosting guests
Instead of soaking it in. Everyone is here to celebrate YOU!
The most beautiful weddings I photograph are the ones where couples trust their vendors and choose presence over perfection.
Your wedding day will never be flawless.
But it can absolutely be joyful!
After years of photographing weddings across Texas and Georgia, here’s what I’ve learned:
The smoothest wedding days are not the most expensive ones.
They are the most prepared ones.
When you:
Build intentional timelines
Communicate clearly
Plan your details
Protect your energy
Your day becomes peaceful instead of chaotic.
If you’re looking for a Dallas–Fort Worth wedding photographer or a Cumming Georgia wedding photographer who helps guide you through planning, not just showing up with a camera, I would truly love to serve you!
